One of the most alarming of these is the <\/span><b>deepfake<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: hyper-realistic audio or video content created using AI that makes it appear as though a person has said or done something they never actually did. Coupled with growing cases of <\/span><b>digital identity theft<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, these technologies are becoming major challenges for individuals, businesses, and lawmakers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What Are Deepfakes?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deepfakes use <\/span><b>AI-based machine learning algorithms<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to manipulate images, videos, and audio.
