The petitioner challenged a special (trial) court order rejecting their application. In the petition, the petitioner submitted that police had seized a purse, aadhar card, passbooks of bank accounts, pan card, jewellery including a chain, six ring, bracelet, two earrings, wristwatch, bag full of clothes, cash Rs 60,000 and vehicle (four-wheeler) at the time of arrest in relation to case.
They had moved an application before the special (trial) court for release of these essentials, which was rejected. Khan before court requested the court to hand over the cash and four-wheeler seized from her by the police during the hearing.
The government advocate didn’t object to the prayer for release of the four-wheeler. On the question of cash seized, the court sought the presence of a case diary in the next hearing directing to list the matter next week.
The alleged honeytrap gang was busted on September 17 and 18, 2019, when anti-terrorist squad Bhopal and crime branch Indore arrested five women and a male driver in two days on a complaint of then IMC engineer Harbhajan Singh. The accused were booked under section 419, 420, 384, 506 and 120-B of IPC for fraud, forgery, extortion, criminal conspiracy. TNN
